Camps & Events
Our year, in four events.
Thursday nights are the heartbeat, but they aren't the whole story. Invictus Fides hosts two Stoa tournaments at Dallas Baptist University, runs camps every summer, and sends qualifiers to the national championship each spring.
The Camps
Hosted by Invictus FidesA week of camps right before the season starts: speech, Team Policy, Lincoln Douglas, and Parliamentary. New students get a running start, veterans knock the summer rust off, and everyone shows up in August with something to build on.
What they cost: Speech Camp is about $175, the Team Policy and Lincoln Douglas camp about $200, and the one-day Parli and Extemp camp about $100. Attending the camp for your event is required for the season.
The Prologue
Hosted by Invictus FidesThe opening tournament of the Texas Stoa season, and ours to run. Families from clubs across Texas and beyond come to Dallas for the year's first full outing: every Stoa speech event, Team Policy, Lincoln Douglas, Parliamentary, and a junior event. Our parents and students staff the whole weekend.
Texas Escalade
Hosted by Invictus FidesOur spring tournament, held over DBU's spring break each March. By then the season is in full stride: cases are battle-tested, speeches are polished, and Escalade is where the spring push toward qualification gets serious. Junior debaters get their own bracket too.
NITOC
Stoa's National Invitational Tournament of Champions: the championship that caps the season. Students qualify through their tournament results during the year, and the host campus moves around the country. In 2027 it runs May 23 to 29 at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Every season, Invictus Fides students set their sights on it.
Dallas Baptist University
Both of our tournaments run on the DBU campus in southwest Dallas, overlooking Mountain Creek Lake. Classrooms become competition rooms, the halls fill with suits and flow pads, and a few hundred homeschool families take over campus for the weekend.
